A 'grand soft day' as I set off this morning turned into 3 hours of torrential rain and lots of mist which meant the hairpins and switchbacks became a little more interesting but were still quite enjoyable......slimy cattle-grids and cliff-top roads covered in cows notwithstanding!
The sun came out as I passed through Fort Bragg and the views made the morning of rain well worth it.
And as Highway 1 ended and merged with the 101 (the Redwood Highway) I found the Drive-Thru Tree so I couldn't resist!
Finished up in Eureka for the evening.
